A Tale As Old As Time| Ashley & Joe's Wedding May 5, 2018| Wedding Coordinate| Pine Lake Park Club

Ashely and Joe’s wedding was a fun and fast-paced experience as a wedding coordinator. Ashley and Joe had hired me for their month of/day of preparation and organization of both their ceremony and reception. When you take on a wedding coordinator for “Month of/Day of”, the tasks for that wedding coordinator will be to tie up any loose ends and follow through with the couple’s wedding day plans to alleviate any stress prior to the alter.

The venue was at Pine Lake Park Club House which had an outdoor log cabin, which is where the wedding was held. The process with this outdoor was pretty much the same as ones I’ve coordinated before: glassware counts, tableware count, reviewing what the caterer is providing and a Plan B in case the weather turns and we’re dealing with rain. When it comes to certain venues, it’s always important to ask about cleaning guidelines and rules-especially for outdoor venues so everyone is on the same page to ensure who the responsible parties are for cleaning duties. Every “i” is to be dotted and every ‘t’ crossed and it all comes together to experience a near flawless wedding day.

Ashley and Joe’s love story is one for the books. After meeting at a mutual friend’s house (who now was groomsmen AND honorary bridesmaid) they kept a friendly relationship for quite a few years before putting a timestamp on their relationship, officially, in 2014. Joe’s proposal was a classic date night in with a home cooked meal, a dress shirt and a twist. Joe had created a video montage consisting of pictures of them, their families, their memories as Joe’s voice narrated their story. Before Ashley knew it, he was on bended knee, asking her to be his wife. He had also extended the dinner invite to a few of their friends and family who didn’t know the proposal had taken place. It was a romantic surprise for everyone!

Their reception was Cinco de Mayo themed and I absolutely loved it. They hosted a taco bar, signature cocktails that I helped with, with names like: Moonlight Margaritas and Lemonade and Razzmatazz-each drink being dispensed through awesome oversized mason jars. Many of the drinks were created to have the colors go with the overall tone of the wedding theme, which was a wonderful touch. The attention to detail for their Cinco de Mayo themed wedding day was adorable, after Ashley and Joe had cut into their wedding cake, they had a Piñata toss which was so much fun. They also mixed in a rustic style as well by having a vintage photobooth, exposed wooden beams and elegant various sized lanterns that were placed around the venue, by the bride herself.

What I loved most was watching Ashley walk down the aisle to the theme of Beauty and the Beast and it seemed so incredibly fitting. A tale as old as time, like her and Joe’s story, beginning by crossing paths for years until they fell in love and began their life together. As their beautiful personalities were surrounded by their amazing friends and family, I was struck by the love that they all had for one another as they danced the night away and hugged and laughed and made memories.
